SAVATE DANSE DE RUE (sm)

Savate Danse de Rue - by Snake Blocker

Savate means a type of shoe.  Danse de Rue means Dance of the Road (or can mean Street, as in Street fighting/dancing)

Savate Danse de Rue (sm) encourages many training situations/scenarios.  I have many instructors, I train in many arts, and I fight in various tournaments/bouts…therefore, I appreciate and respect the variety that Savate Danse de Rue (sm) has to offer.  King Solomon (3rd King of Israel) said, “Though it cost you all you have…acquire wisdom!”  This is so true.  Never complain about the cost/price of seminar, class, or marital art lesson.  It is always cheaper than costing you your life for not leaning how to defend it…or worse, losing a loved-one because you couldn’t protect them.  Savate Danse de Rue (sm) will help bridge the gap and better prepare you for the worse-case-scenarios in life.  Be prepared! Be pro-active!

Below are examples of fundamental principles you will learn with International Guild of Danse de Rue Savate (sm)
(Note: these are just a few of the hundreds of moves you will learn over your lifetime of learning in this ever-evolving world of Combat arts).

The Main Overt:
The Main Overt, an open hand strike used for ripping/breaking/crushing the opponent’s face or throat…this is always a good option (simple, yet effective).

The Chasse:
Chasse Frontal or Chasse Lateral, from the Savate roots, is an excellent & powerful kick which works well against multi-attackers.

The Coup de Bas:
The beauty of this low-line kick is that it is fast and unpredictable.   Plus it is extremely painful to the opponent if you’re wearing a good pair of boots.  Even Bruce Lee incorporated this kick into his Jeet Kune Do curriculum.

The Manipulation of a “Gaugake:”
The “Gaugake,” which is from the Zipota foundation of moves, is a very effective use of force.  You do not waste energy using up your own force, but rather, you will use the opponent’s energy to throw them off balance and open up many options to counter-attack during this time.

The “Painful Idea” Set:
People forget or are never taught the effectiveness of elbow deflections.  With the “Painful Idea” set you destroy the opponent’s attacking fist with your elbow and slam down a very painful side fist/back hand to their neck (or perhaps the temple).  The “Painful Idea” set is a great set-up for a number of follow-up moves.

The “Danse of the Sailor” Multiple Set:
The “Danse of the Sailor” sets are excellent ways to work on entry points and to set-up for multiple attacks.  The sets work on attacking different levels to confuse the opponent and weaken their defense.

Continue to learn…Continue to grow…Never settle for mediocrity!  People die living in mediocrity! – Snake Blocker
