The Muay Thai traditional fighter wraps their hands in cotton and leather wraps.  Next they coat the knuckles, wrist, and back of the hand with glue, made from tree sap.  Then the fighter coats their hands in broken pieces of glass, rocks, and medal fragments.   Sometimes, the shins and instep are wrapped in similar fashion.  Both fighters enter the fighting area and the blood bath begins.  Many fighters will bleed to death, or die later from various wounds and/or infections.  Sometimes, both fighters kill each other and no winner is pronounced.  These Blood Sports have been banned for many years, although such fights (underground) still occur, from time-to-time around the world.  The promoters of such events usually make the most money from the betting.  Life is cheap in many 3^rd world countries.  A Blood Sport may be the center attraction at a royal palace or wealthy political or military event/celebration.
